Excellent Host

I am not talking about standings for this year but over the years which Whl team has had a strong showing for league championships, mem cup championships, building players to go on to the NHL, strong fanbase, a good barn, history spanning over many years and an overall sense of pride and member of that cities community. Here are some choices.
First how many WHL championships each team has, How many mem cup championships each team has, important fact, host team for the mem cup, some of their nhl alumni and first year in the dub.

Starting in the East.
Brandon Wheat Kings – 2 league championships, no mem cup championships, hold the record for most points in a season for the chl (125), hosting the 2010 mem cup. Produced players such as ron hextall, wade redden, jordan tootoo and ray ferraro, first season 1967

Regina Pats – 2 league championships, 1 mem cup championship, one of the oldest junior hockey teams in the world, hosted the mem cup in 2001 and have produced players such as todd fedoruk, barret jackman and jason smith, first season 1966

Swift Current Broncos – 2 league championships, 1 mem cup champion, 4 players died in a bus crash in 1986, never hosted the mem cup, produced players such as dean mccamond, joe sakic, tiger williams, brain trottier. first season 1967

Central
Medicine Hat Tigers – 5 league championships, 2 mem cup championships, held a 197 game sold out streak, never hosted the mem cup, produced players such as jay bouwmeester, trevor linden, bryan mccabe, rob niedermayer and chris osgood.

Red Deer Rebels – 1 league title, 1 mem cup championship, sutter family involvement, never hosted the mem cup, produced players such as Cam Ward, Dion Phaneuf and Jeff Woywitka. first season in 1992

Kootenay Ice – 2 whl campionships, 1 mem cup championship, one of if not the smallest market in the whl, never hosted the mem cup produced players such as dan blackburn, nigel dawes, mike comrie and jarret stoll first season in 1998

A case for the Edmonton Oil Kings in there early years could be made but I won’t include them.

B.C.
Kelowna Rockets – 2 dub championships, 1 mem cup championship, won 24 straight home games in 92-93 with tacoma, host 1 mem cup in 2004. nhl alumni include scott hannan, kyle mclaren, shane webber and Shea Weber.

Kamloops Blazers – 6 league titles, 3 mem cup titles -this team was moved around a lot and at one time was coached by ken hitchcock most mem cup titles in the whl 5 if u include the titles from new westminster hosted the mem cup in 95, nhl alumni include shane doan, jarome iginla, scot nidermayer, robyn regeher, mark recchi first season in 81.

Vancouver Giants

Spokane or Portland

Give me the best team from each division and then an overall winner. Mine is Brandon, Medicine Hat, Kamloops and Portland
The greatest team in the WHl is the Kamloops Blazers in my opinion tell me what you think.

The Giants haven’t been around long but have won one Memorial Cup and one WHL title. In terms of a building the Pacific Coliseum is good sized and is being fixed up for 2010.
